About
Ancient Obelisks are inscribed stones of the Ancients, two to each region, one standing above the Shroud and one below it. Reading one reveals hidden Flame Shrines and Shroud Roots, and the inscriptions make up the lore collections Ancient Obelisk I and Ancient Obelisk II, the second covering the Albaneve Summits and Veilwater Basin. The Revelwood obelisk below the Shroud stands just inside the Springlands, and the thirteenth obelisk marker belongs to Snapjaw Tar Pits, a Blackmire swamp with no inscription that the quest Daggers For The Bard visits. A Story Of Fire and A Story Of Rot send the player to the two Springlands stones, and Obelisk Research to those of the Revelwood, Nomad Highlands and Kindlewastes. A chest at the Veilwater Basin obelisk holds the chest piece and headband of the Siren Seeker set.
Ancient Obelisks contain lore about the world. After reading them, you will gain insight to the locations of hidden Flame Shrines and Shroud Roots.
Flame Shrines can be harvested to obtain Sparks.
Sparks are needed to strengthen the Flame.
Shroud Roots must be destroyed to gain Skill Points.
