Privacy

Last updated 2 November 2026

enshrouded.tools is an unofficial database and interactive map for Enshrouded, run by one person. This page sets out what the site records, what it sends to other companies, and how to have your data deleted. It covers www.enshrouded.tools and the map viewer served from it. The site shows ads from Google AdSense and sells no data.

Every visit

Page views are counted with Google Analytics, which sets cookies and receives your IP address, the page you are on, the site that sent you, and your browser and device type. It shows which pages people use and which are broken. You can block it with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, and Google describes its own handling in the Google privacy policy.

Requests pass through Cloudflare, which delivers and protects the site and so sees your IP address. The web server keeps ordinary access logs with IP addresses and browser user agents, used to find errors and block abuse.

Advertising

Google and the ad companies it works with use cookies and similar identifiers to choose which ads you see, count them and catch fraud, and those choices can be based on your earlier visits to this site and to other sites. Google describes this on its page about how it uses information from sites that use its services.

You can turn off personalised ads from Google in My Ad Center, and ads based on your browsing from many other ad companies at aboutads.info. The ads you see after that are chosen from the page you are on.

Visitors in the UK, the EEA and Switzerland see Google's consent message on their first visit and choose whether ads can be personalised. The Privacy settings link at the bottom of every page reopens it to change that choice.

Progress in your browser

Markers you tick on the map, quest steps, the hub checklists, your map pins and notes, your profiles, saved builds and the planners' picks are stored in your browser's local storage. Without an account they never leave it. A save file you load on the map is read inside the browser and is not uploaded. If you link your save folder (Chrome and Edge), the browser keeps the permission to read it on your computer; the site only reads the save files in it, and only when the map is open.

Accounts

Signing in is optional, and every page and tool works without it. You can sign in with Google or with a one-time link sent to your email address. When you sign in, the site stores:

The site never receives your Google password. Sign-in links are sent through Resend, which delivers the email and so sees the address it goes to. A request for a link also records the requesting IP address, to stop the form being used to send mail to people who did not ask for it.

Signing in sets three cookies: the session cookie that keeps you signed in, a second one that only says a session exists so pages know whether to ask the server who you are, and a short-lived one during the hop to Google and back.

Sharing a map

If you share a profile from the map, anyone with the link can see that profile's name, pins, ticked markers and notes, but not your email address, your account or your loaded save. Stopping sharing turns that link off for good; sharing again makes a new one.

Feedback

The Feedback button sends your message, the page you were on, your browser, system and window size, your IP address, the email address you add if you add one, and your account's address if you are signed in. Each report is stored and emailed to the site owner through Resend, so a reply can reach you and a layout problem can be reproduced.

Deleting your data

Deleting your account removes the account, its sessions, every profile and saved build, and its shared links, straight away. What is in this browser stays until you clear the site's data in the browser settings. To have feedback reports or log entries removed, send the request through the Feedback button with the email address it concerns.
