Flame Shrines

68 in Embervale, in areas of level 3 to 45.

Flame Shrines and Flame Sanctums are places where the Flame is worshipped, and the flame inside each one gives Sparks. Sparks pay for sacrifices at the Flame Altar, which raise the Flame level, add a point to every attribute of each Flameborn and raise the Shroud Passage level needed to go deeper into the Shroud. How many Sparks an altar gives depends on its region's tier, from 1 in the Springlands tier to 4 in the Kindlewastes tier and 6 in the Veilwater Basin tier. The tiers don't always match the ground: two Veilwater Basin altars worth 6 Sparks each stand just inside the Revelwood and the Nomad Highlands. Five more altars have no map marker at all, one inside each Sun Temple, worth 4 Sparks apiece. The Flame Shrine of Manathor in the Kindlewastes is the goal of the quest Hidden Flame Shrine.
