About
Balefires are the eight garrisons, strongholds and towers of the Albaneve Summits, each with a dragon brazier no more than 102 m away. Lighting them is the work of Slaying The Corrupted Beast, given by the Flame: the player lights the first, finds and lights the rest, then challenges the beast on Howling Peak. The braziers are tied to the appearance of the Fell Dragon Youngling. Most Balefires are held by Scavengers, and a Scavenger Matron leads those at Balefire Stronghold "Iron Heart". Gunther Galeforth, a villager, is rescued at Balefire Garrison "Windward", and a chest at Balefire Stronghold "Lance Point" holds a Cyclops Skull.
